Miami is the county seat of Miami-Dodge County, and with a population of over 400,000 is the largest city within the Miami metropolitan area, which in itself is the largest urbanisation in the United States with about 5.5 million residents.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach lays claim to being “the world’s playground” and you can see why. From its superb Art Deco architecture to its vibrant and celebrity studded nightlife, Miami Beach is a Mecca for holiday makers in search of glamour and glitz.

The Art Deco district at the south end of Miami Beach is well worth a visit and will be instantly recognisable to those familiar with the 80’s TV show Miami Vice.

Miami Beach also offers the British Holiday Maker a fabulous range of culinary choices with seafood being high on the menu.

Of course, no trip to Miami Beach would be complete without a shopping trip and the range of stores on offer is wide and varied from well known “big brands” to “small boutiques”.

South Beach

South Beach Miami is a superb holiday destination and an incredibly popular destination with British Holiday makers.

South Beach is the “trendy” area of the larger Miami beach and is a well known haunt of some major A List celebrities.

There’s a great deal to keep you occupied and some high spots would include a visit to the Lincoln Road Shopping Mall or maybe the Bayside Market Place.

The SeaQuarium is a mini SeaWorld but nonetheless worth a visit.

Miami Downtown

As a holiday destination Miami offers the perfect blend of big city bustle with stunning beaches and glorious sunshine. Glamorous, fast paced and decidedly Latin-American, Miami is an incredibly popular holiday destination attracting thousands of British holiday makers each year.

Of course, a great many of those holiday makers will be heading for the famous south beach but there’s far more to Miami than sun kissed beaches and beautiful girls in tiny bikinis. The Miami MetroZoo is an incredibly popular attraction as is the Miami SeaQuarium with its Dolphins, Sea lions and the curious Manatee.
