Disney Coronado Springs Resort
Walt Disney World

Based on the travels of famed explorer Don Francisco de Coronado, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is adjacent to Disney-MGM Studios and less than one mile from Disney's Winter Summerland miniature golf course and Disney's Blizzard Beach water park. Guests are four miles from the Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom and six miles from Epcot Center. Orlando International Airport is 21 miles from the hotel.

Combining elements from colonial Spain, Mexico and New Mexico, Disney's Coronado Resort is a cultural escape. The lakeside resort decorates the horizon with domed Spanish rooftops in the colors of sunset. The resort area is highlighted by colorful plazas, palm-shaded courtyards, and a rocky shoreline surrounding a shimmering lake. The majestic lobby features beamed ceilings and a Spanish fountain. An armoire with glass doors houses a miniature mariachi band. A Mayan temple towers over an elaborate pool area with a water slide and cascading fountains. Child- friendly activities include a playground doubling as an archeological dig site for young explorers and an arcade. The La Vida Health Club provides massage therapy as well as Cybex aerobic and exercise machines. Guests can rent bikes and kayaks at the on-site marina. Dining options include the lively Pepper Market as well as a family restaurant and a cocktail lounge. For business meetings, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort offers 95,000 square feet of convention space. Wireless Internet access is available in the resort's public areas including the pool and lobby.

The Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is Walt Disney World's first family/convention center resort. As you enter the lobby, feast your eyes on La Fuente de Las Palomas or the "Fountain of the Doves" as the spring water trickles over the Spanish-style urn and gathers amidst the colorful tiles. The resort theming is based on a mix of Colonial Mexico and the American Southwest. The 1967 guest rooms and suites are dispersed amongst three villages that surround a 15 acre man-made lake. The resorts feature rustic stucco buildings, Mexican-style bungalows and festive villages with Spanish terracotta roofs. The Coronado Springs Resort is divided into 3 village areas, the Casitas, the Ranchos and the Cabanas. The Casitas village or "Little Houses", has 1024 guest rooms (981 guest rooms and 43 suites) and include buildings similar to those commonly found in Sante Fe or Monterey.
